Stakeford estate, Dumfries – Thursday 25th September – Walkabout attended by Dumfries Tenant Partners & the Community Safety Team (D&GC)

🔍 Key actions:

  • College Street: Two missing water mains toby access covers spotted on pavements – reported to the Roads Department.
  • Goldie Crescent: Fly tipping found in the compound area – been cleared.

Pennyburn Places – Wednesday 24th September

A huge thank you to the 11 tenants and owners who joined us for the walkabout — your time and feedback are truly appreciated

Here’s a quick summary of the key issues raised and actions being taken:

🚧 Blocked drain outside property reported to North Ayrshire Council

🌿 Concerns about hedge cutting at Skelmorlie Place will be raised with contractor ID Verde

🌱 Grass cuttings: These are left on lawns as part of the contract (they decompose naturally), but to be cleared from paths and roads after each cut

🚮 Fly tipping reported in Sundrum, Glenapp, Cambusdoon, Skelmorlie and Coodham — Tenant Partner will arrange uplift

🚗 Parking remains a major concern — we’re exploring options as part of our neighbourhood plan

🗑️ Bins left outside gardens: While we encourage bins to be stored properly, the volume makes this difficult to monitor consistently

⚠️ Concerns raised about children’s safety, litter, and general upkeep — we’ll continue working with the community to address these

⭐ A special shout-out to the local resident who joined us and regularly litter picks in Pennyburn in her own time. We know there are others doing the same, and we’d love to thank these amazing community champions for making a difference! 💙

 

Strathmore Park and Broughton Green, Lawthorn – Tuesday 16th September

  • 🌳 Trees covering lamp posts/lighting issues – reported to NAC
  • 🌞 Overgrown trees blocking sunlight – flagged for review
  • 🚪 Broken gate at Broughton Green – marked for removal
  • 🚶‍♂️ Pathways – noted for further inspection

Tarryholme, Irvine–  Wednesday 10th September

Despite the weather 🌧️, a few tenants came out to speak to us at yesterday’s Tarryholme walkabout. Key issues raised included:

  • 🔧 Outstanding repairs and antisocial behaviour/garden concerns (already being addressed)
    • ⚽Children playing in communal areas and impacting neighbouring gardens (being followed up by Tenant Partner)
    • 🌱 A missed ground maintenance issue at Gailes Court, now flagged to the Asset Team

Muirfield Place, Kilwinning – Thursday 28th August

🙏 Thank you to the tenants and residents who joined us and shared their feedback. Your input helps us improve the area for everyone and we’ve logged the actions summarised below –

Weaver’s Wynd, Irvine – Tuesday 5th August

Following our recent Weaver’s Wynd estate walkabout, here are the main issues raised by customers and the actions taken or planned:

  • 🗑️ Litter in Car Parks: Likely worsened by recent winds. Customers report bins often left out due to limited bin store space.
  • 🌿 Dead Hedges at Weavers Wynd: This is being followed up with the factor.
  • 🚪 Insecure Main Door  Reported to Asset team.
  • ⏰ Outdoor Clock Request: A customer asked to install a clock on the bin store fence. Awaiting confirmation before proceeding.
  • 💡 Communal Lighting Concerns: Rear car park lighting reported as insufficient.
  • 🌱 Weeds & Grass Maintenance: Front grass area flagged for attention.
  • 🛠️ Missing Extractor Fan Cover: Reported to Asset team.

We appreciate all feedback and are working to address these issues promptly.

Kilmarnock Road and Hopefield Gardens, Dundonald – Tuesday 22nd July

  • 🌿 Weeds identified in Hopefield Gardens. We will arrange for these to be cleared.
  • 🗑️ Fly-tipping was identified. We will arrange for this to be cleared.
  • 👥 A few tenants raised individual queries with Tenant Partners Annmarie & Patricia. They will follow up and respond directly to those tenants.

Monkton – Wednesday 16th July

🏘️ Estate Walkabout Update – Monkton

Thank you to everyone who came out and spoke with us during today’s estate walkabout in Monkton 🙌. It was great to see a few familiar faces and hear directly from tenants.

  • 👥 A few tenants raised individual enquiries with Tenant Partner, Arlene. She will follow up and respond directly to those tenants.
  • 🚧 A damaged kerb was identified at Pioneer Crescent. This will be reported to Persimmon for repair.
  • 🗑️ Some litter was noted in the car park at Pioneer Crescent. We will arrange for it to be cleared.

Atha Wind and Hiller Road, Kilmarnock – Tuesday 8th July

Frazer Wright, Grounds Maintenance Property Manager from Newton Property Management joined us.

Newton Properties to resolve a few factoring issues. And I have still to contact the property developer who owns the land behind to deal with the overgrown weeds coming through to our properties.

     

That was all really no other issues.

Littlestane, Lawthorn,- Friday 27th June

🅿️ Parking: A few tenants raised issues with parking which we are looking into.

🌳 Landscaping: Overgrown trees/bushes behind Littlestane Court were flagged. ID Verde has tidied the area, and it’s now added to our regular landscaping programme.

Strathmore Park, Lawthorn – Tuesday 24th June

✅Gutters needing cleared at several properties – reported to asset

🧱Sunken monoblock near drain at No. 41 – reported to NAC

🌿Ivy growing on buildings – asset to follow-up

🏡Provided fencing updates to two tenants

Kerb accessibility issues were noted and passed to the asset team to investigate. A full dog waste bin was noted and NAC informed. Request to NAC for additional dog waste bins raised.

Pavilion Gardens – Monday 28th Apri

Harbourside, Irvine – Thursday 10th April

🛠️ Repairs to loose pathing blocks at Gottries Place underway.

🛣️ Loose pathing at Gottries Road reported to NAC as this path is adopted by the council.

🧽 Graffiti to be removed.

Drongan – Sinclairston Drive and Coronation Road – Wednesday 9th April

❗ Broken glass on the pavement at Sinclairston Drive: This has been reported to East Ayrshire Council.

🕳️ Missing gully cover on Mainsford Avenue: This has been reported to Ayrshire Roads Alliance.

🏡 Clogged gutters were noticed at a few properties: We will arrange for these to be cleared.

Dumfries -Stakeford estate – Monday 7th April

Tenant partners Carol and Jacqui were joined by Billy Martin from the Community Safety Team at D&G Council. Here are some of the issues we noted:

🛠️ Fencing: Approaching Steel Avenue via the footpath from College Street, we found fencing leaning onto a lamppost. This has been reported to the Asset Team.

🕳️ Footpath: Between Stakeford Street and Nithbank Avenue, there is a large dip in the pavement and rubbish in the shrubbed areas. This has been reported to Dumfries & Galloway Council.

❗ Broken Glass: We found broken glass in several areas of the estate on pavements. This has also been reported to Dumfries & Galloway Council.

Irvine – Carters Rigg, Loudoun Rigg, Sanderson Avenue – Tuesday 25th March

Kilwinning- Muirfield Place – Wednesday 12th March

We were joined by ID Verde and pleased to report that landscaping is well maintained.

Our asset officer noted the following actions:

  • Loose slabs repair logged.
  • Calor Gas cannisters on a pathway behind houses. Reported to asset for safe removal.
  • Ivy spotted growing on a property.  Ivy can cause significant damage to buildings, so if you notice any ivy growing near properties, please report it straight away.

Irvine – Weaver’s Wynd – Tuesday 11th March

  • Carpark: A TV unit was found lying in the carpark. We will arrange for its removal. Additionally, a headboard and a “for sale” sign were spotted in one of the bin stores.
  • Litter: Recent weather has caused litter to accumulate around the bin and shrub areas. We will check with the factor about organising a litter pick.
  • Lighting: Some outdoor lights are not working. This has been reported to our asset team for repair.
  • Closes: Overall, the closes were clear and tidy. A few items were found in the close and we have asked the respective tenants to remove them.

Lawthorn – Strathmore Park – Thursday 6th March

  

Our landscaping contractor ID Verde joined us on the walkabout. The landscaping we’re responsible for in the estate was well maintained.

There was some fly-tipping behind some of the houses for which we will arrange an uplift.

There was a pothole on the road as we drove in which we have reported to NAC online.

Dundonald – Hopefield Gardens – Tuesday 4th March

We noticed increased litter across the estates, likely caused by the recent high winds.  We posted on the website and social media requesting tenants try to bag rubbish and ensure bins are stored in a sheltered area to prevent bins and rubbish blowing away. 

Kilmarnock – Atha Wynd/Hillier Road – Tuesday 4th March

We noticed sunken paving on Atha Wynd and have reported to Ayrshire Roads Alliance. ARA will conduct a site visit, and we will advise of follow up action.

Monkton – Monday 10th February

A big thank you to everyone who came out to speak with us during our estate walkabout.! Special thanks to our landscaping contractor, ID Verde, for joining us. We’re pleased to see the estate looking tidy.

Pennyburn- Friday 7th February

The walkabout highlighted several community issues, including fly-tipping, abandoned bins, litter, dog fouling, messy gardens, fallen trees and fences from the storm, parking, and lock-ups. We were joined by Cllr Reid, Cllr Hume, and staff from Streetscene, and a few residents came along to share their concerns. We’ve taken note of the actions needed and will provide updates as we follow up on these issues. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us identify areas for improvement!

Dumfries – Stakeford estate –Thursday 5th December

Dundonald – Tuesday 3rd December

Several repairs were picked up and these were sent over to the asset team.

Hopefield Gardens had enquired about a rubbish bin for the play park which has been sent to the asset team.

Kilmarnock – Tuesday 3rd December

Noted weeds in block paving and shrubs that need attended to. Looking into fencing off access to area at the end of Hillier Road as it has been noted children are playing here. Making contact with land owner to progress.

It was lovely to see houses decorated for Halloween.

The main concern from customers we spoke to was around fly-tipping, abandoned bins etc. Our Tenant Partners, Sharon and Patricia provided advice on reporting to the Council.

Springhill Terrace, Springside – Wednesday 30th October 2024

The condition of the fencing was noted and are currently investigating what we can do to improve this.

Dumfries – Farnland, Lawbank and Shortridge – Wednesday18th September 2024

The police joined us at Tarryholme and have advised they will be doing more regular patrols of the area.

We have contacted NAC about overhanging trees at back of Gailes Place.

We have logged an enquiry with NAC Road Safety to request they look into speed bumps and road speed signs as requested by the police in attendance.

We identified fly tipping in Lawthorn which is being dealt with.
