Our commitment to communities

We are dedicated to supporting our customers and communities.

In 2024, we introduced our Communities and Livelihoods Strategy, which sets out how we will support customers and communities over the next three years. This approach goes beyond traditional housing management services and focuses on creating positive, long-term impact.

As part of this strategy, we aim to provide funding to community groups working within our neighbourhoods. Funding can be used for events or projects that align with our strategy’s objectives and deliver clear benefits to our customers and communities.

What we’ve supported so far

Over the years, we have received requests from local groups seeking support for community activities such as:

Wherever possible, we have supported these initiatives using available funds or through Social Value contributions from our contractors.

A new funding application process

To ensure a fair and consistent approach to funding decisions, we have developed a new application process for community groups seeking support from Riverside Scotland.

Each request will be assessed using clear criteria, including:

  • How the event or project supports local people
  • The number of Riverside Scotland customers who will benefit
  • The expected impact of our funding on the community
How applications are assessed

Any group requesting assistance must complete and return an application form.

All applications will be assessed against:

Based on this assessment, a decision will be made on whether funding or other assistance can be provided.

While we aim to support as many groups as possible, our funding is limited and we may not be able to fulfil every request.

Listening to customer feedback
We have consulted on our new plans with our Sounding Board members. Feedback from this consultation was generally positive and has been carefully considered as we implemented this new approach.
