Warning to customers about suspicious phone calls

Riverside news News article

We are reminding customers to be cautious following reports of suspicious phone calls from individuals claiming to be dealing with housing repairs.

A customer recently received a call relating to repairs at their home. Fortunately, they questioned the caller and did not share any personal information. The caller reportedly claimed to be working on behalf of housing associations.

While we cannot confirm who is behind these calls or their purpose, we want to remind customers to remain vigilant when receiving unexpected phone calls.

How to protect yourself

If you receive an uninvited call claiming to be from Riverside Scotland or a contractor:

  • Do not provide personal information, bank details or passwords.
  • Ask for the caller's name, organisation and contact details.
  • End the call if you feel uncomfortable or unsure.
  • Report any suspicious calls to us so we can help raise awareness.

Staying safe

Scammers often use convincing language and may claim to be calling about repairs, maintenance work or other housing-related matters. If something doesn't sound right, trust your instincts and take time to verify who you're speaking to before sharing any information.

The safety and security of our customers is important to us. By staying alert and reporting suspicious activity, you can help protect yourself and others from potential scams.
