Irvine Housing Association begins recruitment process for new Managing Director

Irvine Housing Association today (1 July 2021) confirmed that it has begun recruiting for a new Managing Director.

The move follows the news that current Managing Director Paul Hillard is to leave the business in the Autumn to take on a new role as a Director with housing consultancy David Tolson Partnership.

The new Managing Director, who is expected to be in post later this year, will join the business at a time of continuing growth as it delivers on its plans to build 300 new homes across Ayrshire in the next 3 years.

Paul Hillard has worked in the social housing sector for more than 30 years, in both Scotland and England.

He joined Irvine Housing Association as Managing Director in 2005 and during his time within the business has overseen a number of significant changes.

These include the organisation joining The Riverside Group in 2011, a transformation of the company’s customer service delivery, improved customer satisfaction ratings, the implementation of employee engagement initiatives, the delivery of ambitious new-build developments and the strengthened Governance procedures.

Paul Hillard is also a former recipient of the Sunday Times Best Companies award for the Best Leader of a Not For Profit Organisation in recognition of his work at Irvine Housing Association.

Paul Hillard said: “It has been a great pleasure to serve the Irvine customers over the past 16 years and to have worked with such a fantastic team of people who all believe in the important role of social housing and the need to help find people affordable homes.

“I’ll be leaving the organisation in good shape with lots of growth and opportunity to look forward to, and I wish them every success in the future as I move on to a new challenge.”

Irvine Housing Association is part of The Riverside Group, one of the UK’s oldest and largest housing associations with 56,000 properties across 160 different local authorities.

Chief Executive of The Riverside Group, Carol Matthews, said: “As well as making a difference to Irvine and their customers, Paul has had a very positive impact on Riverside Group, challenging us to do better in customer service and championing a highly engaged employee culture based on openness and treating all with respect and courtesy

“The Sunday Times Best Companies awarded him the status of inspirational leader for his achievements at Irvine which was richly deserved. Paul will be missed and we wish him every success with his next venture.”
