We are pleased to let you know that we are launching a one‑year pilot of Housing Perks — a free app that gives Riverside Scotland tenants access to discounts, savings and support to help with everyday costs, and even provides an option to pay savings directly towards your rent or any arrears.
Housing Perks is already used by more than 60 housing associations and local authorities across the UK, supporting over one million tenants. We are now introducing the app to offer additional financial support to all Riverside Scotland tenants, particularly during the ongoing cost of living crisis.
What is Housing Perks?
Housing Perks gives you access to discounts at over 100 high‑street and online retailers, including supermarkets, clothing stores, homeware, food outlets and more.
Once you download the app, you can use your savings when shopping in‑store or online. You can then choose to:
- Keep the savings to help with everyday costs, or
- Pay the savings directly to your rent account through the app
This flexible approach means you can use the app in whichever way benefits you most.
This pilot also responds directly to feedback from our recent rent consultation, where more than 30% of tenants told us they were worried about affordability and cost of living pressures. Housing Perks is one of the ways we are investing in additional support for our customers.
Regular updates on savings and support
Throughout the pilot, we will share regular updates on:
- how much tenants are saving
- how often the app is being used
- how many tenants are choosing to contribute savings towards rent
We will also be able to purchase certain vouchers through the app — including fuel vouchers — at discounted rates. This helps us stretch our support budgets further and provide more targeted help where it’s needed most.
A new way to save
Housing Perks gives every Riverside Scotland tenant an opportunity to save money on essential spending and ease some of the pressure many households are facing.
Whether you choose to keep the savings for day‑to‑day costs, or use them to reduce your rent arrears, Housing Perks puts practical financial support directly into your hands.
We’re excited to launch this pilot and look forward to seeing the positive difference it will make over the coming year. We’ve written to all tenants. Please look out for your letter which includes your tenancy reference which you will need to sign up. You can also find your tenancy reference on your rent statement and on the My Riverside app.
