Riverside Scotland Announces Two Apprenticeships During Scottish Apprenticeship Week

Riverside Scotland is proud to announce the funding of two new apprenticeship opportunities—one in Housing and one in Business Administration —as part of its ongoing commitment to developing future talent and supporting meaningful career pathways.

The roles, in partnership with training providers, will offer hands‑on experience, professional development, and the chance to build a long‑term career in a supportive and community‑focused organisation.

The announcement comes during Scottish Apprenticeship Week (2-6 March 2026) and at a time when Riverside Scotland is reflecting on the power of opportunity and long-term career growth—something embodied perfectly by colleagues like Donna Boyle, Riverside Scotland’s longest-serving team member.

Donna began her journey in 1995, joining what was then Irvine Housing Association after starting her career at just 18 as a trainee with Irvine Development Corporation, gaining experience across the print room, administration, housing, and property maintenance teams.  That early chance opened the door to three decades across roles in administration, governance, and executive support—and reflects the very spirit of opportunity Scottish Apprenticeship Week aims to champion. Donna’s story—filled with professional milestones, personal growth, and a deep sense of community—illustrates just how transformative an early start in the housing sector can be.

Donna has worked alongside four managing directors, numerous board members, and many colleagues who became lifelong friends. “Starting my career as a trainee at just 18, I could never have imagined the journey ahead,” Donna reflects, “It’s been a privilege to witness the organisation grow and evolve and it’s not just about the work—it’s about the people, the support, and the shared commitment to making a difference.”

Managing Director, Gary Naylor says these new apprenticeships are part of Riverside Scotland’s ongoing commitment to creating those same life-changing opportunities:

“Apprenticeships open the door to careers people may never have imagined for themselves. At Riverside Scotland, we’ve seen first-hand how a single opportunity can shape a lifetime—Donna’s journey is proof of that. Investing in apprenticeships isn’t just about filling roles; it’s about nurturing future talent, strengthening our communities, and ensuring our organisation continues to thrive.”

Roles will be advertised in the coming weeks. If you are interested in applying, please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates.
